Frontier Airlines Reports Preliminary Record Traffic for May 2006

DENVER, June 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines today announced preliminary traffic results for May 2006, with a record load factor for the month of May. Revenue passenger miles increased 24.2 percent to 763,746,000 for May 2006 from the same period last year. Available seat miles increased 19.0 percent to 956,791,000 for May 2006 from the same period last year. This resulted in a load factor for May 2006 of 79.8 percent, an increase of 3.3 points from May 2005, when the airline reported a load factor of 76.5 percent. The airline carried 806,892 passengers during May 2006, a 28.3 percent increase from May 2005. The airline reported passenger yield of 10.31 cents for the month of May 2006, an increase of 3.0 percent from the same period last year. Its preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (RASM) was 8.23 cents, up .58 cents or 7.6 percent from May 2005. For the month of May 2006, the airline's average length of haul decreased 3.1 percent to 947 miles, compared to the same period last year.
