URS Awarded Engineering Design Contract By Washington State Department of Transportation; Contract Has Maximum Value of $19 Million to URS

URS Corporation (NYSE: URS) today announced that the Company has been awarded a contract by the Washington State Department of Transportation to provide engineering design and environmental permitting services for widening the five-mile section of I-90 just east of Snoqualmie Pass in Washington State. The $387 million project will provide a safer, more efficient six-lane freeway, reduce avalanche danger, and decrease traffic congestion. Under the terms of the contract, URS will assist WSDOT with engineering design services, including the realignment of the roadway, and develop avalanche mitigation measures. In addition, environmental mitigation measures will be developed that will allow wildlife to cross the freeway. URS will assist in the preparation of the final environmental impact statement for the project and support obtaining required permits. The four-year contract has a maximum value of $19 million to URS.
