Library to Host Free Big Truck Petting Zoo
By Victoria Advocate, Texas
Jun. 14–The Victoria Public Library will have a free Big Truck Petting Zoo in the library parking lot from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday as part of the Summer Reading Program titled “Reading: The Sport of Champions!”
Vehicles will be on display for children to see, climb in and learn about. The vehicles will include a fire truck, ambulance, police car, postal truck and limousine.
The event is one of several to be held through July 25 as part of the summer reading program designed to encourage children to read for fun. Children can register anytime this month.
Children will receive reading logs to track the minutes they read, and they will receive incentive prizes for every three hours of reading. Each week the library will hold story times for all ages.
Coleto Creek Power Plant, which is owned by Sempra Energy Global Enterprises, is sponsoring the summer reading program.
