Jun. 17--An Ontelaunee Township man was charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl during a two-year period at his residence, Northern Berks Regional Police said Friday.
Charles A. Funk, 54, was arrested Thursday at his residence in the 100 block of West Huller Lane, police said. The investigation began after a relative reported that she caught Funk in the act of molesting the girl, police said.
Funk was committed to Berks County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail after arraignment before District Justice Gail M. Greth in Reading Central Court.
He was charged with aggravated indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors.
Police said the relative walked into the kitchen June 4 and saw Funk molesting the girl.
The girl later told police that Funk molested her numerous times before that, starting when she was 11, investigator said.
