Jun. 19--THE PROBLEM
After Sun-Sentinel Watch reported on an Adelphia Communications cable that had draped across the hedges in a reader's yard since 2004, several readers contacted us with similar complaints.
Brando Arguello of Boynton Beach worries about a drooping and frayed cable that crosses his backyard, especially now that hurricane season is here.
THE BACK STORY
In April, Arguello called Adelphia, followed the company's procedures for requesting repairs and received a ticket number for a technician's visit. Adelphia workers came to his house but said they could not get in to the backyard despite a note on Arguello's unlocked gate with instructions for entry and repair. Another reader, Barbara Williams, who lives west of Boca Raton, was relieved last week when Adelphia workers removed a cable wire that had spanned her driveway.
On Friday, Christopher Malter, a spokesman for Adelphia, took the ticket number for Arguello's repair and promised to help solve the problem.
WHO CAN FIX THIS
Christopher Malter, a spokesman for Adelphia's Southeast Region. He would like to remind readers of Adephia's customer service line: 888-683-1000. After a few prompts, a service representative will answer and route calls to those who can help.
UPDATE
Success: Left-turn traffic signals replaced at Potomac Road and St. Andrews Boulevard in Boca Raton.
Who fixed this: Douglas Hess, traffic engineer for Boca Raton.
