American Airlines Cargo Division Now Live on Unisys-Operated Cargo Portal Services
Posted on: Monday, 19 June 2006, 09:00 CDT
Unisys announces that American Airlines Cargo is now live on and accepting bookings through the Unisys-operated Cargo Portal Services (CPS), a leading electronic booking and shipment management service for the air cargo industry.
The integration with American Airlines' cargo system and CPS went very smoothly and freight forwarders around the world are now able to take advantage of American Airlines' extensive route network when booking shipments.
"Going live on CPS signifies an important milestone in the evolution of our e-commerce strategy," said Dave Brooks, president, American Airlines Cargo Division. "Our goal has been to provide online booking solutions that address the specific needs of each customer segment, and we are now pleased to offer our customers three channels for online cargo bookings. We're equally pleased that the forwarding industry has been vocally supportive of our decision to be available on CPS."
"Unisys and the CPS community welcomes American Airlines Cargo, since they help to build a strong community that is leading the adoption of Internet services in the air cargo industry," said Christopher Shawdon, vice president and partner, Logistics Services for Unisys.
