Suma Foods Launches First Alcoholic Beverage – Report
June 23, 2006
Suma Foods, the UK’s largest independent health food wholesaler, has launched a range of organic beers onto the market, according to the Yorkshire Post.
Halifax-based Suma is understood to have had the newly-created vegan beers approved by independent UK consumer group Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The company has worked in partnership with a Dutch brewer for the last 18 months to develop the range, which has also been certified ‘organic’ by the Soil Association.
The beers, which are brewed locally in the UK, represent the first alcoholic beverages to be added to Suma’s portfolio, and will be available at a number of independent retailers and a small number of CAMRA-run pubs, the Yorkshire Post said.
