Natural Gas, Oil Soars on the Nymex

Natural gas for August delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell hard Wednesday to $5.765 per million Btu, its lowest level since January 2005.
High-quality crude oil, meanwhile, gained $1.26 to close the session at $75.40 per 42-gallon barrel, a record high for a front-month contract, MarketWatch reported.
Heating oil gained 3.5 cents to close at $2.063 per gallon, and gasoline was up 6 cents to $2.2775 per gallon.
AAA said early Wednesday that the average U.S. retail price of regular gasoline was $2.931 per gallon.
