Blue Sky Network (BSN), the global satellite logistics solution provider for two-way linking and managing remote transportation assets, and Air Alpha today announced that BSN's two-way tracking and cockpit integrated voice kit has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for the Eurocopter EC120B helicopter. The certification covers BSN's D1000 satellite terminals in combination with its ACH1000 advanced control head operating over the Iridium satellite constellation.
Blue Sky Network and Air Alpha will offer this combined communications kit, including the hardware and certification, to operators of the Eurocopter EC120B helicopter. UniFly A/S of Denmark will be the first customer taking advantage of this solution. The new certification adds to EASA certification for the D1000/ACH1000 kit on leading helicopters such as Eurocopter AS350 Series, Bell 222 Series, Bell 214 Series and Raytheon Beech King Air 200 Series.
Features of the D1000 terminal include flight tracking, two-way email messaging, sensor data/telemetry reporting as well as voice communication. The D1000/ACH1000 solution seamlessly integrates with SkyRouter, BSN's unique, global web-portal. SkyRouter enables users to track assets, communicate via simple text messaging, and receive and update flight plans.
"Our D1000/ACH1000 kit offers Eurocopter EC120B operators clear, reliable and private voice and data communications between the aircraft and the ground -- anywhere on the planet," said Jon Gilbert, president and CEO of Blue Sky Network. "We are pleased to be expanding our successful partnership with Air Alpha."
