WHO: Secretary Sunne Wright McPeak, Business, Transportation and Housing Agency and California Department of Housing and Community Development Director Lynn L. Jacobs WHAT: Announces more than $200 million in Proposition 46 bond fund awards. Proposition 46 is the largest housing bond in the nation, and was approved by the voters in November 2002 WHEN: July 18, 2006, 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. WHERE: Casa de la Providencia, 600 South San Fernando Boulevard, Burbank, CA 91502 VISUAL OPPORTUNITIES: Top state housing officials; state and local elected officials, presentation of award checks to affordable housing providers, cities and counties, tour of facilities and interviews with residents . HIGHLIGHTS: -- Secretary Sunne Wright McPeak, Business, Transportation and Housing Agency and California Department of Housing and Community Development Director Lynn L. Jacobs will announce the largest award package ever of Proposition 46 funding. -- Awards will provide homeownership and rental housing opportunities for the State's lower income workforce, elderly, disabled, and those at risk of homelessness. The award package also includes the first award made under the Governor's Initiative to End Chronic Homelessness. -- Awards are made to benefit projects in the following regions: Los Angeles Region, San Diego Region, Greater Sacramento/Stockton Area, Greater San Francisco/Bay Area, Central Valley, Inland Empire, and others. DIRECTIONS: Northbound: Take the I-5 North toward Sacramento. Take the Alameda Ave exit onto Alameda Ave East. Turn Left on South San Fernando Boulevard. Turn Right on East Providencia Avenue. Take the I-405 North toward Sacramento. Merge onto US-101 South toward Los Angeles. Keep Left to take CA-134 East toward Burbank/Glendale. Take exit San Fernando Road. Turn Right on San Fernando Road, continue to Burbank Apartments. Southbound: Take the I-5 South toward Los Angeles. Take exit #146A toward Verdugo Avenue. Turn Left on South Front Street. South Front Street becomes East Verdugo Avenue. Turn Right on South San Fernando Boulevard. Turn Left on East Providencia Avenue. Take I-405 South toward Santa Monica. Merge onto US-101 South toward Los Angeles. Keep Left to take CA-134 East toward Burbank/Glendale. Take exit San Fernando Road. Turn Right on San Fernando Road, continue to Burbank Apartments.
