Frontier Airlines Receives Approval to Serve Cancun From San Diego

DENVER, July 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines today announced that it has received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to expand its Mexico service by offering non-stop service to Cancun (CUN) from San Diego (SAN). With seasonal operation of one flight per week, the service is planned to begin Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006 (return service begins Dec. 17). The new route represents Frontier's second destination from San Diego, complementing Frontier's six flights between San Diego and Denver (DEN). In addition, Frontier now serves Cancun with non-stop service from more US destinations than any other carrier. The new service is Frontier's seventh destination to/from Cancun, joining service between Cancun and Denver, Kansas City, St. Louis, Salt Lake City, Indianapolis and Nashville.
To celebrate the new service, Frontier is offering fares as low as $149* each way from San Diego to Cancun (round trip purchase required). Fares must be purchased by 10 p.m. MDT on Aug. 31, 2006 for travel between Dec. 16, 2006 and July 8, 2007.

Service to Cancun operates on Saturdays and returns on Sundays. Fares shown are one way, but round trip purchase is required. Tickets must be booked and paid for by 10:00 p.m. MDT 8/31/06 for travel from 12/16/06 through 07/08/07. Blackout dates to Mexico 10MAR, 17MAR, and 24MAR, 2007. Blackout dates from Mexico 18MAR, 25MAR, and 1APR, 2007.
Maximum stay in Mexico is 120 days. Fares do not include passenger facility fees of up to $18 roundtrip, the September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 roundtrip, or fees of $3.30 per segment. A segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing. Federal International Air Transportation Taxes of $29.00 roundtrip or foreign departure taxes, customs and immigration fee, airport improvement and health inspection fees and tourism fees combined for up to $70 are not included in this fare. Passports will be required for travel to/from Mexico as of 1/1/07.
Seats are limited and certain flights and/or days of travel may be unavailable at these prices, especially during busy travel periods. Tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable, but may be reissued for a $100 change fee plus any applicable difference in fare. Previously purchased tickets may not be exchanged for these special fare tickets. Fares and schedules are subject to change without notice and other restrictions may apply.
