Parsons has been awarded a $13.9 million five-year contract by the Orange County Board of Supervisors to manage John Wayne Airport's (JWA) Improvement Program. The program will improve and refurbish airport facilities.
Parsons will provide program management and oversight of architect-engineer and construction activities, which entail monitoring, reporting, and making recommendations regarding program planning, costs, schedules, and budgets.
"We're excited to be a part of this project," said Jim Shappell, Parsons Group President. "John Wayne Airport's Improvement Program will be one of Orange County's largest-ever public works programs."

JWA's Improvement Program includes a new 300,000-sq-ft terminal with six passenger loading bridge gates, two new parking structures, a cogeneration plant, existing terminal enhancements, and other ancillary improvements. Construction has begun on the enabling make-ready projects.
