Aussies Heighten Airport Vigilance

Australia is tightening airport security after Britain's announcement that police foiled terrorist plans to smuggle explosive devices aboard aircraft.
Attorney-General Philip Ruddock said security airports clearly will work with a heightened level of vigilance.
Ruddock told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. we have airport police commanders at key airports and they are working with state and territory police.
Prime Minister John Howard said that while he has never given any guarantees that Australia is immune from terrorism attacks at this stage, the alert level here has not been changed.
He added it's under review; we've decided at the moment not to lift it because the threat (in Britain) was to flights bound for the United States.
