Spirit Airlines today inaugurates new service from Myrtle Beach to Boston's Logan International Airport.
"We couldn't be more thrilled about the strong support we've seen for our new Boston service," said Rebecca Rivera, Communications Manager of Spirit Airlines. "Myrtle Beach has enjoyed Spirit's great service for a decade and now we're offering one more fantastic destination to choose from."
"We welcome the announcement of Spirit Airlines' new daily service between Myrtle Beach and Boston and the New England area as well their expanded service to both the New York and New Jersey markets," said Robert Kemp, Director of the Myrtle Beach International Airport. "Not only is Myrtle Beach a major tourist destination for residents in these three regions of the country, but also all three areas are very popular destinations for Carolina residents. Spirit's decision to increase daily flight activity at MYR will offer regional residents additional opportunities to obtain affordable flights. It also underscores the fact that the Myrtle Beach International Airport is well located to support the air service enhancements needed to sustain strong economic growth in this region of the Carolinas."
Spirit will commemorate its inaugural service with giveaways and a media event at Myrtle Beach International Airport today.
This new service will be flown with Spirit Airbus A319 aircraft holding 138 passengers with 8 in Spirit Plus Business Class and 130 in comfortable coach class. Spirit will complete its transition to an all-new Airbus fleet this September and have the youngest Airbus fleet in the Americas.
