Train Hits Car in LA; at Least 2 Dead

A collision Sunday between a car and a light-rail train near downtown Los Angeles has left at least two dead and more than 10 injured.

Los Angeles firefighters said the crash occurred around 9 a.m. PDT on the Blue Line in the city’s South Park district and resulted in four people being trapped in the car.

Two of the occupants were declared dead at the scene and two survivors were rushed to USC Medical Center in critical condition.

Seven of approximately 200 passengers on the train reported neck or back injuries.

The cause of the accident was under investigation Sunday afternoon.
