Spirit Airlines revises its Hurricane Buster Protection policy due to Tropical Storm Ernesto.
For customers holding reservations to/from Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, or Nassau on Tuesday, August 29 through Thursday, August 31, who want to make changes to their travel plans may rebook in the original ticket booking class or travel standby (within 30 days of the original date of travel between the original city-pairs and in accordance with Spirit's accommodation procedures) without paying any change fee or fare difference.
As an alternative, for customers holding reservations for travel to or from Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, or Nassau on August 29, 30, or 31, Spirit Airlines will waive, one time, the $50 change fee but any difference in fare for travel in the future will apply per the Hurricane Buster policy.
Additionally, customers holding reservations for a flight that has been cancelled to/from Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, or Nassau as a result of Ernesto, and who have not traveled, may choose to hold the value of their ticket for future travel up to a year from original date of booking without paying a change fee.
Customers must call the Spirit Reservations Center at 800-772-7117 (or en Espanol 800-756-7117) to make any changes to their reservations.
Hurricane Buster Protection
Spirit Airlines' Hurricane Buster Protection offers customers the ability to make changes to their reservations without a change fee if there is a hurricane watch in effect for their origin or destination airport June 1, 2006 through November 15, 2006.
