Jessica Simpson Beats Her Failing Voice

Jessica Simpson could only whisper when speaking to Today Show host Matt Lauer Friday, but that didn't stop her from belting out songs from her new album.
Simpson's concert had previously been scheduled for Tuesday, but she had to postpone the appearance due to a bruised vocal cord, People Magazine reported.
But Simpson came to the show Friday morning, sporting a rose tucked behind her ear, a short haircut and sang her single I Belong to Me from her new album A Public Affair.
I love you, she said to fans.
Between songs Simpson took a medical concoction prepared by her vocal coach which Lauer described as gnarly looking -- I don't even want to know what it is.
I don't want to know, either, said Simpson, flashing a brown potion inside a glass canister. She told the audience, My voice is shot, before going into With You, which she called the T-shirt song.
