Association of European Airlines Supports AVIATION WEEK's MRO Europe Conference & Exhibition

NEW YORK, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Industry and airline executives from all sectors of Western and Eastern Europe's aviation industry will convene 18- 20 October in Amsterdam to explore the future of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) during AVIATION WEEK's annual MRO Europe Conference & Exhibition.
Ensuring European airlines stay connected to MRO Europe, AVIATION WEEK today announced the support the Association of European Airlines (AEA). AEA represents 31 major airlines, and has been the trusted voice of the European airline industry for over 50 years.
Europe accounts for almost one-third of the $36 billion global commercial and regional/business jet MRO market, and to help define where airlines want to go in terms of better processes at less cost, MRO Europe will examine key issues which define the state of the industry, such as increased outsourcing of MRO activities, the steady growth of parts manufactured approval (PMA) parts, and continued consolidation.
"The MRO Market in Europe is a unique environment, partly driven by the large percentage of low-cost carriers, the increased outsourcing, steadily growing use of parts manufacturer approval (PMA) parts, and smaller average fleet sizes," said AVIATION WEEK President Tom Henricks. "Participants at MRO Europe will get a unique insight into these issues, as well as experience the full range of business, technological and operational developments and trends in the MRO marketplace."
According to AEA Secretary General Ulrich Schulte-Strathaus: "We see our partnership as a win-win situation for both AVIATION WEEK and the AEA. We are proud to become a main partner in Europe's most important Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Conference. The AEA will create further added value by bringing in its well established network of airline contacts as well as its expertise in the field of European safety regulation affecting the European MRO business."
MRO Europe, the most important event for the European aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul industry, gives airline maintenance professionals the opportunity to connect with the MRO industry through presentations and panel discussions, and a sold-out exhibit hall. It attracts more than 2000 top industry and airline executives from all sectors of Europe's aviation industry.
MRO Europe features executive-level discussions and a sold out exhibition hall with more than 245 MRO product and service suppliers. Keynote addresses will be provided by:
* Peter Hartman, Deputy President & CEO, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines * Jason Bitter, COO, SkyEurope Airlines
