Northern Power Appoints Ronald Puryear VP - Product Sales; Promotes Betsy Anderson to VP - Product Operations
Posted on: Thursday, 21 September 2006, 15:01 CDT
WAITSFIELD, Vt., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northern Power, a subsidiary of Distributed Energy Systems Corp. , announced today that Ronald Puryear has joined the energy solutions company as vice president of product sales. The company also announced the promotion of Betsy Anderson to vice president in its newly established product operations group.
Northern Power said these additions to its senior management team support its strategic focus on high-value products for distributed generation and oil- and-gas markets. The company develops, markets and produces a growing portfolio of products, including the NorthWind(R) 100 wind turbine, SmartView(R) remote monitoring software, the PowerDistributor(TM) product family, and the newest addition, the MT-Power(TM) system, which made its debut at the PEMEX Expetro 2006 tradeshow in Cancun, Mexico, in early September.
Mr. Puryear comes to Northern Power with a 20-year record of accomplishment in sales and marketing management, including extensive experience in international markets. In his new role in the products division, Mr. Puryear will develop and manage direct sales and external channels worldwide. Previously, he was vice president of global sales & marketing for Doosan-HF Controls Corporation's nuclear and thermal power controls division.
Ms. Anderson's new operations role will involve managing development and fulfillment for the entire Northern Power product line. Until her promotion, she managed the product development team, working with the vice president of operations to align business operations with key product development initiatives, and has also played a key role in implementing a new, company- wide enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. She joined Northern Power in 2005 from General Motors, where she had program management and production start-up responsibilities for that company's new high-volume engines.
"By having Ron join our team and giving Betsy broader responsibilities, we are rounding out a strong, experienced senior management team to help accelerate the acceptance and success of our innovative, customer-focused products in their respective markets," said Northern Power President Darren Jamison. "Ron's expertise in power electronics and controls provides an excellent fit for products such as PowerDistributor PD900 and our modular UPS, and Betsy's in-depth manufacturing experience should enable us to improve production efficiencies and the cost-effectiveness of all Northern Power products."
