LANHAM, Md., Oct. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Integral Systems, Inc. today announced that it has been selected by Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems (LMCSS) to provide primary and backup satellite control systems for the VINASAT-1 satellite. The satellite is currently being constructed by LMCSS for the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). The satellite control systems will incorporate several elements of Integral Systems' EPOCH Integrated Product Suite (IPS) to provide a complete real-time command and control system as well as automated scheduling, procedure execution, offline trending and analysis, and flight dynamics functions. The selection of Integral for this contract builds upon its existing relationship with LMCSS on previous programs and EPOCH's extensive install base (largest in the industry), which includes numerous other LMCSS A2100-based satellites. The contract also reflects VNPT's desire to have a proven solution able to support the future growth of their satellite fleet.
"We are very excited to continue our relationship with Lockheed Martin, one of the world's premiere satellite manufacturing companies, and to support VNPT in becoming a growing force in the Asian SATCOM marketplace," said Stuart Daughtridge, Vice President of the Commercial Division at Integral Systems. "By selecting Integral, LMCSS and VNPT will not just be receiving today's leading solution for satellite command and control, EPOCH IPS, but a low-cost, no-risk operationally proven solution that readily supports both VNPT's current and future needs," he added.
