The value of the award is estimated at $665,000 and includes purchase and installation of the security camera systems.
"We are very pleased with the results of the pilot project and CCJPA is eager to move forward with this system wide deployment of the ShiftWatch Video Surveillance System," stated Gene Skoropowski, Managing Director, Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority. "The safety and security of our passengers is our utmost concern. High quality video security, as demonstrated by the ShiftWatch system, is an important part of our solution."
"We are proud to be selected by CCJPA, one of the largest intercity rail routes in the nation, as an important part of their security solution. We were confident that once we were able to demonstrate the features and video quality of ShiftWatch as part of the initial pilot roll out, this larger order would follow," said Tom Marinelli, CEO for Security With Advanced Technology, Inc. "We believe that the video quality and advanced data management features of our ShiftWatch TVS 300 make it well suited for heavy rail deployments such as CCJPA."
The Capitol Corridor is an intercity passenger train system operating rail service to eight Northern California counties that includes the Sierra Foothills, Sacramento, the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley/San Jose. The CCJPA is a partnership among six local transit agencies in the eight county service area that manages the service with day-to-day management support from the S.F. Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART). Capitol Corridor's ridership is currently 1.3 million passengers annually and represents the third busiest intercity passenger rail route in the nation.
