Hearst Magazines and Heritage Family Specialty Foods Partner to Launch Country Living Specialty Food Collection

Posted on: Tuesday, 24 October 2006, 06:00 CDT

Hearst Brand Development announced today a licensing agreement with Grand Prairie, TX-based Heritage Family Specialty Foods to manufacture and distribute the Country Living Specialty Food Collection - a signature line of high quality sweet and savory gourmet specialty foods. The licensing agreement with Heritage is the first of its kind in the gourmet food industry.

The latest extension of the Country Living brand will offer a select assortment of products available for holiday at hfsfoods.com beginning in early October 2006 and a special tasting at the Country Living Fair at the Chicago Botanic Garden October 6 -- 9. The full collection will be introduced to buyers in January 2007 at NASFT 32nd Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco.

The Country Living Specialty Food Collection will feature everything from a homemade pie-in-a-jar to fresh-tasting dessert toppings, preserves, sauces and condiments -- providing consumers with easy and delicious ways to experience the pleasures of home cooking. The product will be distributed at gourmet, gift and specialty food stores throughout the U.S., and the premium positioning of the Country Living brand will be reflected in both product packaging and point-of-sale materials.

"Our partnership with Heritage Foods represents another important extension for the Country Living brand by serving our readers' passion for cooking and entertaining," said Glen Ellen Brown, vice president of Hearst Brand Development. "Heritage Foods was a natural partner for us, given their capabilities to create shelf stable products that evoke memories of favorite country dishes and time-honored family traditions."

"The Country Living Specialty Food Collection will offer Americans a delicious way to enjoy the homemade flavors of country living," said Michael Moss, vice president of marketing for Heritage Family Specialty Foods. "The partnership between Country Living and Heritage Family Specialty Foods will bring simple, delicious and easy-to-use gourmet food products into the kitchens and onto the dinner tables of families throughout the country."
