MasterCard and American Airlines Make Travel More Comfortable This Holiday Season

PURCHASE, N.Y., and FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MasterCard Worldwide and American Airlines today announced a joint program to give away more than 1.2 million "Comfort Kits" to passengers on select domestic flights throughout the upcoming holiday season. The kits, which are designed to soothe holiday travelers' anxieties about the guesswork that comes with packing small items, will be distributed beginning Nov. 21 and through the December holidays.
Each "Comfort Kit" will contain items that airline passengers might otherwise need to check with their luggage or make sure meet carry on regulations, including lip balm, lotion and toothpaste. The 'Comfort Kits' will be handed out to all passengers following take-off of their respective flights, and will be provided on select domestic American Airlines flights longer than three hours.
"MasterCard and American Airlines understand that traveling around the holidays can be hectic, and realize how important it is to passengers to look and feel their best when they arrive to see their loved ones," said Gareth Forsey, group executive, U.S. Commerce Development, MasterCard Worldwide. "Travelers have a lot going on around this exciting time of year, and these 'Comfort Kits' will help make their trips as convenient and comfortable as possible."
MasterCard hopes to spread some holiday cheer to American Airlines passengers by providing them with items that they may have liked to bring on- board, but would be likely to check instead.
"The MasterCard sponsorship of the 'Comfort Kit' program will make many of our passengers' travel experiences more pleasant as they head home or to their holiday destinations," said Lauri Curtis, Vice President - Onboard Service for American Airlines. "We constantly look for ways to improve our customers' travel experiences, and our flight attendants enjoy being part of that interaction."
