New American Airlines Parking Garage to Open at JFK Airport November 15

NEW YORK, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The travel experience for American Airlines passengers will be greatly enhanced with the opening of the new Red Parking Garage at John F. Kennedy International Airport, opposite Terminal 8 and American's new Terminal 9. The new garage will open at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

The garage, built by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in connection with American Airlines new terminal at JFK, initially provides four levels with 1,600 spaces. It will eventually expand to five parking levels and 1,940 spaces.

"We know it will make our customers travel experience in and out of JFK all the more enjoyable."

   Parking rates will be:    *  First 15 minutes - free    *  First 30 minutes - $3    *  First hour - $6    *  Each hour or part thereafter - $3 up to $30 maximum for each 24-hour       period.   

The garage will be accessible from Terminals 8 and 9 using the enclosed bridge to the Airtrain or at ground level using the roadways crosswalk. American Airlines also reminds its customers that vehicles are not permitted to wait at the curb for passengers at arrival or departure levels at the terminals. Directions to the garage will be clearly marked at the airport.

The American Airlines Alternate Lot on the service road of the Van Wyck Expressway, which was used for parking the last 18 months, will close with the opening of the new parking garage.
