MONTREAL (CP) - Close to 15,000 Hydro-Quebec customers were without power Sunday after an ice storm hit parts of southwestern Quebec.
The hardest hit area in the province was the Laurentians, where more than 8,000 homes and businesses lost electricity.
Parts of Montreal and the Monteregie region were also affected.
Hydro Quebec says it expects to restore power to all its clients by Sunday night.
Sunday's power outages cap a busy weekend for the electrical utility. High wind and freezing rain left as many as 276,000 Hydro clients without power on Friday.
