Frontier Airlines Expands Service to Canada With Daily Service Between Denver and Vancouver International Airport

Posted on: Tuesday, 12 December 2006, 12:00 CST

DENVER, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines today announced it will launch daily non-stop service between its Denver International Airport (DEN) hub and Vancouver International Airport (YVR) beginning May 5, 2007. Passengers aboard the flight between Denver and Vancouver will enjoy the comfort and convenience of Frontier's new Airbus A319 aircraft, with 33 inches of legroom as well as 24 channels of DIRECTV(R) service and a choice of three pay-per-view movies in every seatback.

Frontier's launch into Vancouver will mark the second Canadian city the airline will serve from its Denver hub. Frontier began service between Denver and Calgary on May 25, 2006, becoming the first American low cost carrier to serve Canada.

Passengers traveling from Vancouver will enjoy convenient connections to 22 Frontier cities throughout the U.S. as well as four of Frontier's eight Mexican destinations -- Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Guadalajara in the winter. For passengers traveling from Denver, the new service will commence just in time for the peak cruise season between Vancouver and Alaska.

"Vancouver and Denver are both vibrant cities with stunning mountain views, thriving business communities and plenty of activities for business and leisure travelers," said John Happ, senior vice president of marketing and planning for Frontier. "Vancouver is the largest port for Alaskan cruises with over one million passengers per year and over 300 sailings, so we have created a summer schedule for our Denver and U.S. connecting passengers that takes advantage of the tremendous cruise market there. In October, we will change our schedule to provide ideal connections for our Vancouver passengers who want to travel to the stunning beaches of Mexico in the winter. It is truly a win-win proposition no matter which country you are traveling from or to."

"We know Vancouverites will enjoy Frontier's low cost service to Denver for both business and leisure," said John Korenic, director aviation marketing for Vancouver International Airport Authority. "Both cities offer access to world-class skiing, unique downtown areas and forward-thinking business communities. I'd like to welcome Frontier's Denver passengers to Vancouver and I'd also like to welcome other Frontier passengers connecting from 22 of Frontier's cities to Vancouver."

To celebrate the new Vancouver service, Frontier will offer special introductory fares as low as *US$109. All fares are one-way with round-trip purchase required, and must be purchased by 10:00 p.m. MDT, January 31, 2007. In addition, Frontier will offer double miles for travel between Denver and Vancouver through June 15, 2007, for members of EarlyReturns, Frontier Airlines' frequent flyer program.
