Reminder - MEDIA ADVISORY: Los Angeles Airport Police's Second Annual Holiday Caravan to Distribute Gifts to Those in Need

WHAT: Los Angeles Airport Police Officers are hosting their 2nd Annual Holiday Caravan to distribute Yule greeting cards and candy canes as the caravan drives throughout the airport community. Officers are providing gifts to families that are less fortunate living in surrounding communities. Airport Police, their labor organizations and Traffic and Security officers are contributing gifts for distribution. WHO: Los Angeles Airport Police. WHERE: Route begins at the Los Angeles Airport Police Station, 6320 W. 96th Street, and moves along an eight mile route. The caravan then enters the LAX Central Terminal Area lower level, completes one loop around the airport and then returns to the Los Angeles Airport Police Station. MEDIA PARKING: All media vehicles may park at the west end of the Airport Police Parking Lot (6320 W. 96th Street). WHEN: Wednesday, December 20, 2006, 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Media should arrive prior to the beginning of the caravan. VISUALS: -Los Angeles Airport Police vehicles with holiday decorations (Hummer, Tactical Truck, etc.). -Los Angeles Airport Police Santa Claus in police vehicle leading the parade. -Procession will include uniformed patrol, traffic, security, bicycle and canine officers. -Gifts will be delivered to selected families homes after the procession ends. -Donations will be made to families in the 5400 Block of Arbor Vitae Street, Los Angeles (Manchester Square area) and at the Airport Police Station.
