DERRY, N.H., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Cedar Point Communications, the leader in integrated VoIP switching technologies for the cable and telecommunications industries, announced today that Chris Zanyk has been named as Managing Director, Latin America.
Zanyk joins Cedar Point after 10 years with Nortel in Latin America. With Cedar Point, he will be responsible for working with the company's significant customer base in the Latin American market, and will work closely with the company's sales and support partners to develop new customers for the company's SAFARI C(Cubed) Multimedia Switching System.
"Latin American cable operators have been among the earliest and most enthusiastic to embrace the simplicity, cost-effectiveness and scalability of SAFARI C(Cubed)," said Andy Paff, president and CEO of Cedar Point Communications. "As the market has grown, it has become increasingly important that we have someone of Chris Zanyk's caliber to manage our activities, and to address the needs of our customers and our partners."
Most recently country manager for Nortel Chile, Zanyk served in a broad range of capacities over the past four years in overseeing Nortel's operations in Chile and Bolivia. Previously, he had been a senior account manager for the company, servicing the Bellsouth Chile account. Zanyk began his career in 1996 as a sale executive for Latin America with Nortel CALA. He holds a B.A., an MBA and an MS in International Business from the University of Miami.
Cedar Point's SAFARI C(Cubed) Multimedia Switching System, the only totally integrated carrier class VoIP switch that incorporates all of the components that make up the voice switching infrastructure, builds value in the network by providing SIP-based features and seamless evolution to an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture. SAFARI C(Cubed) provides superior performance and reliability, significantly reducing capital expenditures, system integration and operations costs for cable operators offering telephony services while increasing network integrity, security and privacy.
SAFARI C(Cubed) is PacketCable(TM)-qualified and future-architected to fit within an IMS core network infrastructure, allowing network operators to leverage their initial equipment investment in voice as they introduce such services as video telephony and fixed-mobile applications. New applications can be integrated into SAFARI C(Cubed), or can be accessed via third-party application servers.
