OMAHA, Neb., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Mutual of Omaha and Olympic gold medalist Josh Davis today introduced the Mutual of Omaha Breakout! Swim Clinic program, a unique swim clinic experience designed to inspire and motivate a new generation of swim stars to pursue their dreams.
As an official sponsor of USA Swimming, Mutual of Omaha has actively supported the sport on all levels, from local clubs across the country to the National Team. Davis, who earned three gold medals in the 1996 Olympics and two silver medals in the 2000 Olympic Games, is a master clinician and motivational speaker. Together, they have developed the Mutual of Omaha Breakout! Swim Clinics.
A Mutual of Omaha Breakout! Swim Clinic offers participating swim teams a four-hour session lead by world-class athletes who are either Olympians or current National Team members. Potential athlete clinicians include Davis, Aaron Peirsol, Brendan Hansen, Kaitlin Sandeno and Kate Ziegler -- all Mutual of Omaha-sponsored athletes. Each clinic will feature:
* Specific motivational messages directed to kids, coaches and parents * Personal instruction on all four strokes from athletes in the water and on the pool deck * A question and answer session with the athletes * Autograph and photo opportunities * A loaded gift bag for each participant * Follow-up newsletters * Access to Web sites with interactive tools and information for parents and swimmers * Fund-raising ideas for hosting swim clinics
"Tomorrow's Olympic champions are today's age group swimmers," Davis said. "Through the Mutual of Omaha Breakout! Swim Clinics, we hope to give these kids the knowledge and empowerment they need to go after their dreams -- no matter how big they are."
Inspiring and motivating the next generation of swimmers and their parents is a Mutual of Omaha goal.
"Mutual of Omaha shares Josh's passion for the sport of swimming and we are excited to work with him to help raise awareness and participation in the sport," said Mutual of Omaha Senior Vice President John Hildenbiddle. "Josh and his fellow gold medal clinicians are both talented athletes and inspiring individuals. Giving young people the opportunity to interact with them leaves a positive impression that will last a lifetime."
