Polish Current Oil Stocks to Last 80 Days, Minister Says
Text of report by Polish radio on 8 January
[Announcer] The Economy Ministry has confirmed that there are problems with the supply of oil via the Friendship oil pipeline [from Russia to Poland and Germany]. Last night the delivery of this raw material to Poland and Germany was stopped. Here is the spokesman for the Oil Pipelines Exploitation Company [PERN], Tomasz Zakrzewski.
[Zakrzewski] We asked the Belarusian pipeline company Gomeltransneft immediately to give reasons why the pumping of oil had stopped. In the same letter we also asked when the deliveries would resume. So far, however, our company has not received any reply to this letter from the Belarusian side.
A similar letter is expected to be sent any minute now to the Russian Transneft pipeline company.
[Announcer] Deputy Economy Minister Piotr Naimski has given reassurances that our current oil stocks will last for 80 days. The Economy Ministry is to give more information on this subject at a press conference to be held in the afternoon at 1300 hours [1200 gmt].
