Belarus halts Russian oil flow to Europe
MOSCOW, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) — Shipments of Russian oil to Poland, Germany and Ukraine through Belarus have been halted, the Interfax news agency reported on Monday, citing a spokesman for Belarus’ pipeline operator Belneftekhim.
The Druzhba pipeline “is not pumping oil in the direction of Poland, Germany and Ukraine under orders from Belneftekhim,” the spokesman was quoted as saying.
At the beginning of the year Belarus imposed a new customs duty on Russian oil piped through the country, but Russian officials rejected it as unjustified.
