Saturn, Chevrolet Win Car, Truck Awards
January 8, 2007
The Saturn Aura and Chevrolet Silverado have been named the 2007 car and truck of the year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The winners were picked by a panel of 49 U.S. and Canadian automotive journalists, who considered design, safety, handling and innovations, as well as driver satisfaction and value, Saturn and Chevrolet parent General Motors Corp. said.
The Aura beat out the Honda Fit and Toyota Camry. The Silverado was chosen over the Ford Edge and Mazda CX7.
Last year’s winners were Honda Motor Corp.’s Civic coupe and Ridgeline pickup truck.
The Detroit auto show opens to the public Saturday.
