Jan. 20–As part of Verizon Wireless’s $5.28 million expansion announced yesterday, the company is seeking experienced customer service representatives to fill more than 330 jobs north of Pittsburgh.

The jobs, for call centers in Cranberry and Marshall, will pay in the mid- to high $20,000 range, said Danielle Zemlicka, a human resources manager with the company. Benefits will start on the first day of employment.

Verizon Wireless chose to expand in Pennsylvania instead of Ohio or New Jersey after the state offered nearly $1.3 million in grants, job training and tax credits.

The company has been expanding rapidly in the region, with about 150 new hires since August. It expects to start hiring immediately for the new openings.

“They do need at least one year of customer service experience, either face-to-face or over the phone,” said Ms. Zemlicka, adding that the positions also require a high school diploma.

Applicants can submit resumes at www.verizonwireless.com/careers.
