Delta Translates International Expansion Into a Language Customers Understand: Great Low Fares!; Newest Nonstop Trans-Atlantic Routes From New York-JFK Now on Sale for Summer Travel

NEW YORK, Jan. 23, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Delta Air Lines is inviting customers to experience three of the newest trans-Atlantic destinations served from its fast-growing hub at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport with special low fares for summer travel to Bucharest, Romania; London-Gatwick; and Pisa, Italy.

Delta customers can book flights at special introductory fares at delta.com or from a travel agent beginning today for travel starting as early as April 1. Customers should act fast, however, as these discounted fares must be purchased no later than Feb. 5, 2007. Some blackout dates apply and travel periods are limited. See below for more details.

Customers enjoying Delta's special low international fares will benefit from the airline's significantly expanded international route system, including more than 50 new international routes added in the last year. In addition to Bucharest and Pisa, Delta's 2007 international line-up includes new nonstop service between Atlanta and Seoul, South Korea1; Vienna, Austria; and Prague, Czech Republic (1).

In 2006, Delta implemented its largest and most successful international expansion in company history with new trans-Atlantic service from Atlanta to Dusseldorf, Germany; Athens, Greece; Edinburgh, Scotland; and Johannesburg, South Africa, in addition to new service from New York-JFK to Budapest, Hungary; Kiev, Ukraine; Dublin/Shannon, Ireland; Manchester, England; Mumbai, India; and Accra, Ghana.

As part of Delta's globalization efforts, online customers also can now access delta.com in Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese, with additional languages to be launched later this year.

Delta offers customers more flights to more destinations from New York City's two preferred airports combined -- John F. Kennedy International and New York-LaGuardia -- than any other airline. At LaGuardia, Delta operates the city's leading Shuttle product to Boston and Washington, D.C., in addition to nonstop Delta and Delta Connection carrier service to 27 other destinations. At New York-JFK, Delta operates a major international and domestic hub with 173 peak-day flights to 73 worldwide destinations, including nonstop service to 33 international destinations.

Tickets cost $10 more if purchased from Delta over the telephone or $15 more if purchased at an airport or city ticket office, and these amounts are nonrefundable.
