MAS Fair a Golden Opportunity for Travellers
KUALA LUMPUR: Travellers can rejoice as Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will be offering discounts of up to 70 per cent for five million seats.
In the week-long 4th annual Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair starting on Wednesday, prices of all international flights will be slashed. There’s a further 15 per cent off the fare price for children while infants are charged just 10 per cent of the adult fare.
The travel period is from February to September, longer than last year, when it was up to June.
“Customers can visit our website at www.malaysiaairlines.com and we will be prepared for this online onslaught,” said MAS distribution assistant general manager Md Saat Abd Samad.
“At our last fair, we recorded an all-time record of 900,000 hits on our website.
“This year, we are anticipating more and have upgraded our servers to eight times last year’s capacity,” he said at a Press conference yesterday.
Alternatively, customers can contact the 24-hour call centre at 1 300 88 3000.
Also, special ticketing counters will be opened at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, KL Sentral and the main ticketing office in the MAS building in the city as well as MAS offices around the country.
MAS will also offer Golden Holiday packages ranging between RM481 and RM5,000. These packages cover not only air travel, but transfers, accommodation and breakfasts.
The popular umrah packages will also feature in this year’s fair as well as packages for vacations around the country.
Fair earnings are expected to top last year’s earnings of RM180 million.
