Grants Offered for Military Families

Feb. 1–The University of Idaho 4-H Operation: Military Kids is offering $10,000 in mini-grants to support Idaho’s National Guard and Reserve youth and their families.

The purpose of the grants is to underwrite costs for hosting, sponsoring or participating in various initiatives of the Operation: Military Kids program, including daylong or weekend youth retreats, one- or two-day training, military family camps, mobile technology laboratory, and Hero-Pack and other projects throughout the state.

The $250, $500 and $1,000 awards will go to Idaho schools, community agencies, organizations, military support groups, youth groups, 4-H clubs and other community partners around the state.

Priority consideration will be given to proposals serving residents of Hayden Lake, Kellogg, Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene, Bonners Ferry, Moscow, Orofino, Lewiston, Grangeville, Pocatello, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Blackfoot, Caldwell, Nampa, Boise and Weiser.

Applications will be approved beginning today and will continue to be accepted and considered on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funds are available.
