The Largest Solar Power Station is Near the Bohemian Forest
Korowatt (Busanovice, Czech Republic), solar power station operator, commissioned a solar power station in Busanovice near Prachatice at the foot-hills of the Bohemian Forest on 29 Jan 2007. It is the largest solar power station in the Czech REpublic and East Europe. The power station cost CEK 85 mil and will produce nearly 628,000 kWh of electric power per year. It will satisfy the average need of electric power for about 172,000 households. Korowatt received a state subsidy of CEK 30 mil for this project. The Czech Republic is behind Germany and other countries of West Europe in the production of power from solar radiation. The output of all solar power stations in the Czech Republic is about 1 MW.
