Northrop Grumman Sponsors Heritage Family Day Series at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 9, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced today that it is sponsoring three family day events at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (NASM). As part of the museum's Heritage Family Day series, Northrop Grumman is supporting African American Pioneers in Aviation, Women in Aviation and Space, and Kites of Asia.
African American Pioneers in Aviation, held on Feb. 10 and Feb. 24, invites visitors to learn about the early pioneers who, despite the challenges of segregation at home and abroad, learned to fly. Visitors will be able to meet members of the Tuskegee Airmen, African American pilots who flew during World War II.
On March 17, Women in Aviation and Space allows visitors to learn about the contributions of women in aviation, science and aerospace as well as view science projects completed by local Girl Scout troops. NASM invites visitors to make their own kites, which can be entered in the Smithsonian Kite Festival, while learning about the history and artistry behind Asian kites on Kites of Asia day on March 24.
