Feb. 12–WARNER ROBINS — A Bonaire man died Friday evening when he was thrown from his car in a collision at the intersection of Ga. 247 and Booth Road.

Eduardo Cordova Hernandez was traveling too fast for conditions when he lost control of his 1994 Pontiac Firebird and collided with a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Joseph Caum of Warner Robins, according to a news release from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

Hernandez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was traveling south on Ga. 247 shortly after 7 p.m. when he tried to change lanes and skidded into the northbound lanes and into Caum’s path, the release stated.

Rescue workers pronounced Hernandez dead at the scene and transported Caum and his four passengers to hospitals in Warner Robins in Macon for treatment of their injuries, the release stated.

Hernandez was not a licensed driver and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, the release stated.

The accident is under investigation.
