Feb. 13–Dynamo forward Brian Ching has agreed to a new deal with the team.

The new contract locks in the 28-year-old for a year with two more years at the team’s option. Ching will top $200,000 in base salary this year, about 25 percent more than his base pay last year.

Ching, who scored 14 goals last season to help lead the Dynamo to an MLS Cup victory in their inaugural season, was offered a new deal even though he was still under contract.

Ching could not be reached for comment late Monday.

The Dynamo are also in negotiations with All-Star midfielder Dwayne De Rosario, who also is under contract.

Also Monday, the New England Revolution signed Taylor Twellman to a four-year that will pay the forward $375,000 in each of the first two years.

On the road again The Dynamo will depart today for Orlando, Fla., where the team will scrimmage against Central Florida before taking on MLS teams the Chicago Fire and New York Red Bulls at Disney’s President’s Day Soccer Festival IX this weekend.

Hooked on Beckham The Dynamo begin selling five- and 10-game plans for the 2007 regular season today.

Both packages will include the Oct. 7 match against the Los Angeles Galaxy in what could be the only David Beckham sighting in Houston this year.

Prices start at $105 for the five-game plan and $190 for the 10-game plan. For information call the Dynamo office at 713-276-7500.
