Viewpoints Bypass is the Main Priority

I was amazed to read in the Echo that the Welsh Assembly Government is pressing ahead with a new road link to Cardiff International Airport.

As a frequent flier who lives in the Church Village area, I can honestly say I have never been caught in a traffic jam while travelling to the airport.

Travelling via the Five Mile Lane or Wenvoe, it takes approximately 40 minutes from home to the airport.

However, because of the lack of flights or packages tours from Cardiff, I have, over the years, been forced to drive to Heathrow, Bristol, Gatwick, Exeter, Manchester or Stansted, usually in the middle of the night.

One horrendous return journey from Gatwick, on a bank holiday, took me six hours.

My first choice would be Cardiff every time, even if it took an hour.

I realise that traffic will increase in future with the new defensive training site at St Athan but that is in the future, we in Church Village are begging for a new by-pass now!
