Uzbek Delegation Visits Iran for Trade Talks

An Uzbek delegation left for Iran on 19 February to participate in the eighth session of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry has told a Regnum news agency correspondent.

Xonov Nodirxon, the head of the Uzbek part of the commission and a deputy prime minister, is leading the Uzbek delegation, the Foreign Ministry said.

According to a representative from the Foreign Ministry, the current state of and the prospects for trade and economic relations, cooperation in the spheres of transport, transit cargo transportation and communications will be discussed during the forthcoming session. According to the Foreign Ministry, trade between Uzbekistan and Iran was worth 682m dollars in 2006.
