Active Power to Speak at Piper Jaffray & Co. Alternative Energy Symposium on February 21

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Active Power, Inc. , inventor and manufacturer of the most reliable and energy- efficient critical power systems in the world, today announced that its CFO John Penver will speak at the upcoming Piper Jaffray & Co. Opportunities in Alternative Energy Symposium February 21, 2007, in New York City. Participation includes an Active Power webcast as well as a guest spot on the Power Storage Panel.

The second annual symposium will focus on industry trends and investment trends in solar, cleantech and biofuels. These will be explored through management presentations and industry panels featuring leading public and private companies in the sector. Mr. Penver has been invited to serve on the Power Storage Panel at 3:30 p.m. Prior to that, he will provide an overview of Active Power at 9:30 a.m. that will also be available via webcast from the company’s web site, http://www.activepower.com/ .

The symposium features keynote addresses by Andy Karsner, assistant secretary for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and Hermann Scheer, member of the German parliament, general chairman of the World Council for Renewable Energy (WCRE) and president of EUROSOLAR, the European Association for Renewable Energy.
