Ann Arbor IT Zone Begins the Spring Season With Business Improvement Programs
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Ann Arbor IT Zone begins spring programming with Rob Pasick’s LeadersConnect, Career Focus, Selling Smart, and Hi-Tech Tuesday. All events will be held at SPARK Central, 330 East Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor.
March 6 – Rob Pasick’s LeadersConnect: “Inside Story of GEMA: How DaimlerChrysler Has Successfully Created a New Manufacturing Plant in Dundee MI.” Rob Pasick hosts Bruce Baumbach, plant manager of GEMA/ Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance to discuss GEMA’s success in the region. Baumbach will explain GEMA’s ability to redefine a winning culture in a traditional industry, as well as its success with UAW in building a workplace that employs a 4A (Anyone, Anything, Anywhere, Anytime) concept. Baumbach will also share his insight into things that need to change in both the style and structure of management to support the GEMA model. March 13 – Career Focus: “Idea Evaluation and Goal Setting at the Start of a Business.” Kathi Boyle is the owner of a business education firm aimed at teaching entrepreneurs to run a profitable business. In her 30- year career, she has helped over 40 companies to set goals and focus on their purpose. Boyle will share the importance of setting goals, as well as how to accomplish them once they’ve been set. The event will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and costs $15 for IT Zone members, $25 for non- members, or $5 for students. March 15 – Selling Smart Seminar: “Overcoming Prospecting Paralysis.” Join Joe Marr of Marr Professional Development Corporation and The Sandler Sales Institute as he shares proven tactics for overcoming reluctance and getting to decision makers. The event is from 8:30 to 10 a.m., and costs $15 for IT Zone members, $25 for non-members, or $5 for students. March 20 – Hi-Tech Tuesday: “Second Life – a World Like No Other.” An expert panel will introduce you to Second Life, a means of conducting “real life” business in the virtual world, teach you how to become a resident, and explain the concept and future of “immersive media.” Registration and networking begin at 5 p.m., with the panel discussion from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event is free for IT Zone members and costs $25 for non-members or $5 for students.
