Verizon Wireless Opens Communications Store in Augusta, Maine

WOBURN, Mass., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ — In response to growing demand for the company’s voice and data products and services, Verizon Wireless has opened a new location in Augusta, Maine. Located inside the Circuit City at 90 Stephen King Drive, the store is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“This expansion represents our commitment to provide customers with increased convenience and an accessible, knowledgeable sales staff,” commented Augusta store manager, Valerie Libby. “Demand for our wireless services continues to grow as more people take advantage of our America’s Choice(R) and FamilyShare(R) price plans, and our popular data services like wireless broadband, V CAST downloadable music and on-demand video, picture messaging and text messaging.”

Libby will oversee a staff of six employees. The store features the full range of Verizon Wireless products and services and is fully staffed for customer service, allowing customers to speak with Verizon Wireless’ highly trained representatives about all their wireless needs.

In 2006, Verizon Wireless activated 100 cell sites across Maine, added company-owned retail locations, and announced partnerships with authorized agents MC Wireless, Wireless Zone and Wireless Explosion. The company also recently opened a company-owned store location in Biddeford.

Verizon Wireless has invested more than $35 billion in the last seven years — $5 billion on average every year since the company was formed — to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services.
