Midwest Airlines Enhances Los Angeles and Tampa Service As Part of 2007 Strategic Growth Plan

Posted on: Thursday, 1 March 2007, 15:00 CST

MILWAUKEE, March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Midwest Airlines today announced schedule enhancements on two popular routes as part of its 2007 strategic growth plan. The airline will add a second nonstop roundtrip between Milwaukee and Los Angeles during peak travel periods to meet customer demand. Midwest will also expand its Milwaukee-Tampa, Fla. service by adding a second roundtrip during the summer season.

The additional summer season service between Milwaukee and Tampa begins May 1. The additional service between Milwaukee and Los Angeles begins July 1.

The enhanced service is the next step in Midwest's comprehensive strategic plan, which includes carefully planned route expansion as well as the addition of six new destinations and as many as 12 new routes in 2007 -- leading to a 20% increase in capacity in 2007.

Flights between Milwaukee and Los Angeles are operated as Midwest Airlines Saver Service, which features nonstop service and low fares to leisure destinations. Seating is arranged in a two-by-three configuration with generous legroom for extra passenger comfort. Flights between Milwaukee and Tampa will include one daily roundtrip operated as Saver Service and one roundtrip six days a week operated as Midwest Airlines Signature Service on Midwest's new Boeing 717 aircraft featuring two-by-two leather seating, extra legroom, and Recaro seats with adjustable headrests and footrests. Saver and Signature Service include onboard complimentary soft drinks, packaged snacks and baked-onboard chocolate chip cookies, with the airline's buy-onboard Best Care Cuisine available for purchase. DigEplayer portable inflight entertainment systems are also offered for rent on most long haul flights.

"We're committed to providing a superior, competitively priced product, great customer service, and convenient schedules to the cities travelers want to visit," said Scott R. Dickson, senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "Our customers have told us they want more nonstop service from Milwaukee to Los Angeles, so we are happy to provide additional frequency. Similarly, we are pleased to respond to customer demand by offering year-round twice daily Milwaukee-Tampa service."
