First-Ever Visual Simulation of California’s Planned High-Speed Train System to Be Unveiled

March 2, 2007
Repost This

WHO: California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA)

WHEN: Friday, March 2, 2007 10:00 a.m.

WHAT: California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) Board Meeting.

Newly released projections of revenue and ridership for individual segments of the high-speed train system will be presented. The analysis was sponsored by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and conducted by Cambridge Systematics.

For the first time, a visual simulation — a 3-D computer graphic illustration of how the high-speed train will be integrated within California’s existing transportation infrastructure — will be unveiled. How will high-speed train move through congested Southern California cities and through the Central Valley and Bay Area? Here’s your chance to find out.

The video will also show what Californians can expect to see at station locations. The state-of-the art computer simulation will be used for the engineering and construction analyses of the high-speed train’s alignment and design.

The Board Meeting Agenda also includes:

A staff presentation of the contract procurement process.

A Parsons Brinkerhoff presentation of preliminary travel time and capital cost analysis for the Bay Area to Central Valley HST Program EIR/EIS.

A public workshop to explore options for staging construction of the system.

WHERE: Sacramento Area Council of Governments 1415 L Street, Suite 300, Sacramento, CA

The broadcast quality visual simulation will be available at the meeting.
