KANSAS CITY, Mo., March 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Travelers flying Midwest Airlines will soon benefit from added flight frequency on five key business and leisure routes from Kansas City.

Beginning May 1, the airline will enhance its schedule in four key nonstop markets:

   — Kansas City-Boston, increasing from 1 to 3 nonstop roundtrip flights each weekday — Kansas City-Los Angeles, increasing from 2 to 3 nonstop roundtrip flights daily — Kansas City-Orlando, adding a second year-round, nonstop roundtrip flight daily — Kansas City-San Diego, increasing from 1 to 2 nonstop roundtrip flights daily

Additionally, beginning June 1, Midwest will enhance its Kansas City-San Francisco schedule, increasing from 1 to 2 nonstop roundtrip flights daily.

The added Kansas City flight frequency is the next step in Midwest’s comprehensive strategic plan, which includes carefully planned route expansion as well as the addition of six new destinations and as many as 12 new routes — leading to a 20% increase in capacity in 2007.

“Midwest Airlines is pleased to once again expand service in Kansas City, an important part of our national route network,” said Scott R. Dickson, Midwest Airlines senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “Midwest has always had a great relationship with the Kansas City region. It’s our pleasure to offer greater convenience to Kansas City passengers traveling to key markets throughout the country.”

With the added service announced today, Midwest Airlines will offer 37 nonstop flights each weekday from its Kansas City hub to 15 destinations nationwide. The airline has steadily expanded its Kansas City service in recent years, resulting in significant gains in passenger market share; Midwest is now the second largest airline in Kansas City.

The added nonstop flights will operate as Midwest Airlines Signature Service. Midwest’s new Boeing 717 aircraft feature two-by-two leather seating, extra legroom, and Recaro seats with adjustable headrests and footrests. Onboard service includes complimentary soft drinks, packaged snacks and baked- onboard chocolate chip cookies, with the airline’s buy-onboard Best Care Cuisine available for purchase. DigEplayer portable inflight entertainment systems are also offered for rent on longer flights.
