Strong sales, high load factors and growing popularity of Gary/Chicago airport as the preferred alternative to Midway and O'Hare are driving factors behind SkyValue's success.
SkyValue flights, operated by Xtra Airways of Elko, Nevada, will utilize 737-400 aircraft for the summer/fall schedule and offer for the first time both business and coach class of service. The decision to introduce business class service was based on direct demand from both business and leisure travel sectors. One way business class fares start at $342 and day of departures upgrades will be available for $50 and $75 depending on the destination.
"Phones have been ringing off the hook with passengers anxious to book their summer and fall travel," said Darrell Richardson, CEO of SkyValue. "We are pleased by the enormous interest in our service. Passengers travel from as far as several hours away, just for the convenience, quick boarding and unbeatable fares we offer," he added. "The addition of business class service at a better price point than AirTran or Southwest, will draw corporate sales from the major metropolitan areas we serve."
SkyValue's business model focuses on providing air service to regional airports near large cities offering easy accessibility, cost and time efficiencies, a welcomed alternative for passengers from congested major airports. Plans include new destinations, one in the Los Angeles area basin, in the near future.
Reservations can be made online at http://www.flyskyvalue.com/, by phone, 866-796- 6117, or through travel agents. Travel agents may register online or book through Sabre, Amadeus and Worldspan using carrier code XP.
SkyValue launched low cost premium service from its hub in Gary/Chicago International Airport to "Fun and Sun" destinations Dec. 15, 2006. Gary/Chicago Airport boasts a state of the art facility, free secure parking and is just 25 miles from downtown Chicago. SkyValue fares for economy class seats start at $79, business class fares from $342. Strong sales are driving plans to expand routes.
