Russian-Kazakh Turnover Up 30% – Gustov

ASTANA. March 14 (Interfax) – Russian-Kazakh trade turnover reached $12.8 billion, a 30% increase compared to 2005, Chairman of the Federation Council’s CIS affairs committee Vadim Gustov said at a conference entitled Kazakhstan’s International Cooperation: Status, Objectives and Perspectives in Astana on Wednesday.
A total of 70% of bilateral trade is guaranteed thanks to border regions, he said, adding that the Russian parliament is going to pass a bill on cross border cooperation.
The senator expressed hope that “a similar bill will also be passed in Kazakhstan.”
